Being a Youth Ambassador
Often people ask me, "What do you do as a youth Ambassador?" I simply say," All you need is to be dedicated to human rights and justice for all, and the rest will come naturally." Being the Youth Ambassador for the Peace Kids and TheCommunity.com really is a HUGE honor and entitles hard work and commitment but if you are big into the issues it's a breeze. I got involved in human rights becauase my mom worked for Amnesty International (an organization dedicated to stopping atrocities in the world) and I started speaking out against the injustices in the world when I was five years old. Last year ( in 2007 ) I went to Rome and met Mikhail Gorbechev, Lech Walesa, Betty Williams, Mairead McGuire, His Holiness The Dalai Lama, Muhamad Yunus, and I interviewed all these people and more. This newly passed year I also went to the same style conference where I met Jimmy Carter, Kofi Annan, and many more activists. Although I am only 12 ( soon 13) I have learned quite a lot in my 12 years of existence and I assure you I will gladly fight the good fight known as human rights!
